5 minutes free, no sign-up · Needs a microphone and a connection

As simple as that

Three steps and you understand each other

The first turn explains itself, and you can hand the phone over without a word of instruction.

  1. 01

    Hold and speak

Each person gets their own button, in their own language. The microphone only listens while you are holding it down.

  2. 02

    See what it understood

The transcript appears on screen before the translation is spoken. If it heard you wrong, you find out before the other person does.

  3. 03

    Let go and it speaks

The translation plays out loud in a natural voice. The other person answers with their own button, and it goes back the other way.

Before you start

What is free, what counts, what you need

  • The free trial

Five minutes per visitor, after a quick check that you are a person. No account and no card.

  • What counts

Only the time someone holds a talk button down, by the second. Both people's turns come out of the same balance; listening and reading are free.

  • What does not count

A turn where nothing was understood, and the time the connection is down. If a turn fails, hold the button and say it again.

  • What you need

A recent browser with microphone access and an internet connection. The audio is not recorded; the text of a shared conversation is deleted within two hours.

It is machine translation, so it can get things wrong: that is why you read what it understood before it is spoken. Packs are seconds of translation with no expiry date.

Two ways

One phone, or one each

The same interpreter, depending on whether the other person is next to you or on the other side of a counter.

Face to face

One phone, passed back and forth

Two buttons on the same screen. You hold yours, they hold theirs.

  • Nothing to set up: open the page and the two buttons are there.
  • Works with one phone in the middle of a table, on speaker.
  • Install it as an app and it opens with no browser in the way.

Across a counter

Two phones, one QR

Yours shows a code, theirs scans it, and each person reads and hears on their own screen.

  • Each side reads its own language, without leaning over someone else's phone.
  • You can hear the translation on your own phone or on theirs, whichever suits.
  • Only you pay: the guest needs no account and no credits; their turns come out of your balance.

What makes it different

It is built for a conversation that goes back and forth. Each person has their own button and the microphone only listens while it is held, so turns do not overlap. You read what it understood before it is said out loud, and with two phones each person reads and hears their own language. It is machine translation: it can make mistakes, which is why you see the transcript first.

  • Clear turnsOne button per speaker, so turns do not overlap.
  • TransparentYou read the transcript before it is spoken out loud.
  • No frictionOpen the link and talk: nothing to install, nothing to configure.

Where you are going to use it

Not for reading a menu or translating a sign. For when there is another person in front of you, waiting for your answer.

  • Paperwork and offices

Your children's school, the bank, the landlord, the insurer: where you have to explain your case and understand the answer.

  • Serving a customer

Your counter, your workshop, your site: you close the sale instead of losing it because neither of you understood the other.

  • At work

Instructions from a supervisor or a workmate, said once and understood the first time.

  • Everyday life

The mechanic, the movers, the neighbor, the technician who comes to the house.

And along the way you see how to say in English what you had just said, in a situation that mattered to you. It is not a course, but it sticks.

Not for a medical appointment. In a consultation a translation error is expensive, and you have the right to a qualified interpreter: ask for one at the health center.

Questions people ask before buying.

How much can I try for free?

Five minutes per visitor, with no account and no card, after a quick check that you are a person. If today's free trials run out, the page tells you to come back tomorrow.

What exactly is charged?

Only the time someone holds a talk button down, by the second, for both people. A turn where nothing was understood, and time with the connection down, are not charged.

What do I need for it to work?

A recent browser with microphone access and an internet connection, on the phone or computer. It is machine translation: read the transcript before it is spoken, and say it again if something was misunderstood.

Does the other person need anything installed?

No. They speak into your phone, or they scan a QR and use their own — with no account and nothing to install.

Do the credits expire?

No. Credits are seconds of translation, and what you bought is yours until you spend it.

Can I use it for medical or legal matters?

For arranging, serving and explaining, yes. For a diagnosis, a consent form or a contract, use a human interpreter: this is a machine and it can be wrong.
